Charles 'Scoop' Kiesel

Deacon 'Scoop' Kiesel, 93, passed away in the arms of his family on Christmas Day after a life of service to his family, his church and his community."Scoop" moved his young family to Fort Myers Beach in 1950 to be part of the "Pink Gold" rush that followed discovery of Gulf of Mexico shrimp and was a vibrant member of the beach community for over a half a century. He was a key member of the Island shrimp fleet for many years, always ready to share stories of his shrimping life.
