Memorial Park will close for repairs
Fort Myers Beach, FL, November 10, 2011 — The public fishing pier on Fort Myers Beach located at Lynn Hall Memorial Parkwill close for repairs November 14ththrough November 18, 2011. The restoration project is funded by TDC, Tourist Development Council, and is scheduled to be completed in mid January 2012. The project includes replacement of the wood railing along the pier and the dune walkovers, replacing the water lines and electrical conduit and wiring along the pier in addition to recoating the walking surface with traffic bearing membrane. Improvements will also take place to the piling and under side of the fishing pier.
Anglers and visitors are welcome to use the fishing pier under the Matanzas Bridge on Matanzas Bridge Fishing Pieroff of San Carlos Island. A saltwater fishing license is required for Florida residents who saltwater fish from shore, however there is no fee for the license for Florida residents.
